School of Journalism and Information of Queen’s Community College offers Print and Online Reporter Diploma Program. Students are introduced to the historical and contemporary importance of journalism. Program includes the basic principles of print and online journalism as the examining the role of printed news media in our society. They learn investigative skills, responsible reporting, and journalistic writing techniques. Course includes possibilities of conducting interviews, refining essential skills of researching, writing, and designing of publications to be successful and competitive journalists and media reporters. Being aware of the importance of practice based education we collaborate with appropriate partners as ‘’Georgian Times’’, as well as providing suitable technical background on campus for facilitating students’ practical abilities.
When the power of voice and narrative storytelling are joined with strong reporting and the right structure, journalism connects with the reader. This Diploma course allows students to develop written projects intended to make an impact and much more.
